Discover more about me

At the age of 22, I was working for a company making lightbulbs when my older sister asked me out of the blue if I might be interested in a job in Professional Medical Billing. I applied for the Mail position at University Medical Group (UMG) and was hired on the spot. I quickly moved into a collector position, and shortly after that I was promoted to Account Representative III. I transitioned into Insurance Follow-up, working denials, where I was promoted to a Lead within that department. After six years of being a Lead, I was hired for a new position as the Company's trainer. I came into the job with a longtime desire to always try to absorb as much information as I can in any situation, a habit that allowed me to grow within the company. After working at UMG (transitioned to Oregon Health & Science University) for 22 years, I started a new position at AdventHealth working denials for Hospital Billing, where I was quickly promoted into a Supervisor position on the team.
As a highly motivated person who likes to challenge myself, I developed many new skills during that time, in the areas of leadership, creating training programs, and training staff. In my positions as a Follow-up lead and as a Trainer, I used those skills daily to guide and motivate my team and trainees.
Being in a leadership role with a focus on training, I excel in the development of training programs, workflows, and processes that result in a standardized training so every employee has a foundational understanding of exactly what is expected of someone in their position.
